Bob Pain

Bob has always had a passion for sports, physical activity and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Bob loves anything to do with the water, thoroughly enjoys cooking and loves to be surrounded by friends and family. As a CrossFit trainer, Bob is given the opportunity to continue to pursue his love for athletics; as he is constantly seeking new methods of training and always looking to improve the mobility and lifestyle of each of his clients. If not at the gym, you will always find Bob geeking out on the latest health and fitness blogs.

Qualifications: CrossFit Level 1, CrossFit Endurance, CrossFit Olympic Lifting, CrossFit Mobility and Movement, CrossFit Football, NCCP Swim Foundations (Level 1), NCCP Olympic Weightlifting (Level 1).

Other Workshops Attended: Carl Paoli’s Freestyle Connections, MovNat workshop, Agastu Mobility, Outlaw Camp Precision and Science.

Mike has played a variety of sports since he was young and it was in high school when his passion for working out developed. In 2017, Mike started training at Limestone Athletics. Seeing the positive impact that functional fitness has on members and being part the amazing, supportive community, it lead him to becoming a full-time coach. As Mike work with members, he really enjoys leading them to achieve their health and fitness goals. Qualifications : ACE certified personal trainer, CrossFit level 1 CF-OL1, Opex programming: mixed modal athletes

Dylan has participated in as many sports as he could growing up. Track & Field became a favourite and quickly grew into a passion that allowed him to compete at the World Junior Trials. After moving to Kingston in 2010, he turned his passion into a career and graduated with a diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion. In 2013, Dylan became apart of the Crossfit Limestone community. He competes in CrossFit, weightlifting and powerlifting and strives to continue to improve. With over 7 years of experience in the fitness industry, he continues to walk alongside each individual to achieve their fitness and health goals.

Sylvia McDermott

Sylvia participated in a variety of competitive sports growing up, from gymnastics and trampoline, to soccer, hockey, and rowing. In 2014, she stumbled across Limestone Athletics and quickly fell in love with the sport of CrossFit and the surrounding community. Sylvia graduated from Queen’s University with a degree in Physical and Health Education. Currently, she is continuing her education in the Accelerated Standing Track Nursing Program at Queen’s University. When Sylvia is not studying or in the gym training, you can find her spending time outdoors, walking her dogs, cooking, and sharing food with family and friends. She is passionate about health and wellness and hopes to use her leadership role as a coach to instill confidence in others and encourage members to live a healthy lifestyle.

Amy Brown

As an elementary teacher for the past 18 years, former trainer, competitive CrossFit athlete, and national flatwater canoe champion, Amy Brown brings valuable and transferable knowledge, leadership experiences and a training background to the Limestone Athletics community. 

Her goal is to support members by being a resource, role model, accountability coach, and friend.  Through her various experiences, Amy has a thorough understanding of goal setting.  She assists others with developing a plan, offers succinct progressions with modifications for individual learning, when required, and constantly reviews and reflects, making changes, if needed.  She is confident that she has the knowledge, energy and desire to assist members with achieving successful results.

When she isn’t at the gym, you will rarely see her sitting down. Amy enjoys golfing, biking, running, paddle boarding, skiing and snowshoeing with her family and friends. She is also on the organizing committee for the Motionball Marathon of Sports for Special Olympics.
